This project involved designing an annual magazine to showcase the previous year’s research highlights and achievements within an academic department. The brief called for a publication that not only summarized key research outputs but also celebrated the people behind the work through dedicated faculty and student spotlights.
Concept & Results:
My role was to lead the editorial design and layout of the magazine, ensuring the content was presented in a visually engaging and accessible format. I collaborated closely with writers, editors, and featured researchers to develop a cohesive narrative and design language throughout the publication. The final product successfully captured both the depth of the department’s research and the personality of its community. One of my key takeaways from the project was learning how to balance dense academic content with compelling design. The magazine was well-received and served as a valuable communication tool for both internal and external audiences.
