The Preston M. Green Department of Electrical & Systems Engineering sought to recruit more students from math and physics backgrounds, recognizing the strong alignment between those disciplines and the field of systems engineering. To support this effort, I was tasked with designing a flyer to promote a series of upcoming departmental info sessions aimed specifically at this audience.
Concept & Results:
Working independently on the design, I developed a visually engaging flyer that spoke directly to math and physics students by highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of ESE and the opportunities it offers. I used clean, academic aesthetics and concise messaging to create something both informative and approachable. The final result was a professional, targeted promotional piece that was distributed across campus and shared digitally. The flyer helped drive attendance at the info sessions and contributed to increased engagement from students outside the traditional ESE pipeline. This project reinforced the importance of knowing your audience and showed how even a simple piece of design can play a key role in strategic outreach.
