The Parade of Homes magazine was a print publication created for a bi-annual event showcasing local homes, builders, and realtors in the Bryan–College Station area. While working at The Bryan–College Station Eagle, I was tasked with leading the design and production of this special edition. The magazine served as both a promotional guide for attendees and a branding tool for the local homebuilding community.
Concept & Results:
I managed the entire visual direction and layout of the magazine. One of the most challenging yet rewarding aspects of the project was designing the event map. It needed to be both functional and visually integrated with the magazine’s aesthetic, ensuring readers could easily navigate between the featured homes. This project required coordination across multiple departments, including editorial and advertising, as well as direct collaboration with local realtors and the Home Builders Association. By balancing practical needs with engaging design, the final product was both informative and visually cohesive. The success of the map in particular highlighted the importance of thoughtful user experience in print media—one of my key takeaways from the project.
